The Silent Legacy

Where Pan-African Soul Meets the Atlas Mountains

M'rirt → Monde

In the Middle Atlas, at the edge of a small town called M'rirt, wool has carried memory for generations. Long before Kush & Knots existed, women here were already coding meaning into thread — geometry as language, pattern as inheritance.

I grew up watching this. Watching my father's hands move across the loom with a precision that needed no ruler, no digital tool, no second guess. Just decades of muscle memory, passed down the same way this craft has always moved: hand to hand, not page to page.

Kush & Knots was born from a simple refusal: we will not let this disappear into "ethnic decor."

The System: SAOUDY 18™

Every piece we make follows a geometric system I developed myself — SAOUDY 18™. It is not decoration. It is architecture.

0.00mm tolerance. Absolute geometry.

Where traditional Beni M'rirt weaving met a language I grew up between — Pan-African symbolism, the visual grammar of a continent, translated into wool. SAOUDY 18™ is the bridge: ancestral technique on one side, contemporary identity on the other. Not a fusion for aesthetics' sake — a mathematical, deliberate structure.

U = W / 18. The proportions aren't arbitrary. They're coded.

The Silent K

Every rug carries a hand-signed 'K' — sculpted directly into the wool by the tisseuses of M'rirt. You won't always see it announced. That's the point.

Le (K) muet.

It's a signature the way a stonemason's mark is a signature: quiet, permanent, and only fully understood by those who know to look for it. It means the piece in front of you was made by a specific pair of hands, in a specific place, and nowhere else.

Made By My Father

Every Sovereign Selection piece is designed by me and hand-knotted by my father and Malika, using the SAOUDY 18™ system.

This isn't a brand story we constructed after the fact. It's the literal supply chain: one family, one workshop, one loom, in M'rirt. When you place one of these rugs in your home, you're not buying from a factory with our name on it. You're commissioning a piece from the two people whose names are actually on it.

In Partnership with Thanakra Oufous

We work in collaboration with the Thanakra Oufous cooperative — a living network of artisans preserving M'rirt weaving as an active practice, not a museum piece. This partnership means every commission supports the continuation of a craft that could otherwise fade with a single generation.

Patrimoine vivant certifié. Living heritage, certified — not by an institution, but by the fact that it's still being made, today, by the people who've always made it.

Tech-Luxury Rugs. Pièces Uniques 1/1.

We don't produce collections in the traditional sense. Each piece is a 1/1 edition — one rug, one geometry, one moment of creation that will not be repeated. This is why we speak the language of collectors rather than the language of decor: a Sovereign Selection piece isn't chosen to match a room. It's acquired the way you'd acquire a sculpture — because it stands on its own.

For Those Who See Beyond the Rug

For collectors and the architects who think in heritage. For designers who don't compromise. For anyone who understands that a floor covering can also be a coded, signed, living piece of history.

M'rirt → Monde.
